COURSE DESCRIPTION
A beginning course studying surveying instruments and their use in the measurement of angles, distances, and elevations. Also includes mathematics, computational methods, adjustments, and measurement analysis used in plane surveying.
Assessment
Assessment for learning will comprise of ;
- 75% and above class attendance
- CAT 1 – 30%
- CAT 2 - 70%
- End of Term Examinations – 100%
- Active class participation

GENERAL COURSE OUTCOME
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain the role of surveying in the civil engineering industry.
- Select appropriate surveying methods for specific engineering applications.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating various surveying instruments.
- Collect, process, analyze, and interpret survey data using proper techniques.
- Apply surveying principles to real-world engineering scenarios by performing field tasks and generating reports.
